Did you know that there are over 300,000 ezines on the Internet today? Unfortunately, thousands of these ezines are just plain garbage. What makes some of these ezines garbage?
Let me tell you...
Anybody can throw in an article and a few ads and send out an ezine. Bad ezines don't do anything for the credibility of the publisher and it just wastes a readers time.
Although readers do not have to pay to receive free ezines, they are still paying a price... their precise time. With the lack of time that people have today, it is a scarce commodity that they rather spend on worthwhile reading.
There are thousands and thousands of ezines on the topic of "Internet Marketing" published every week, but if you really read some of these ezines closely, it sounds like the publisher doesn't really have a clue as to what he or she is doing.
Are they making money on the Internet? If not, why are they trying to teach others to do what they are doing... which is absolutely nothing.
The quality of Internet articles have also hit rock bottom. It seems like everyone including Grandma seems to be writing an article about Internet marketing.
This new phenomenon is because of the various books touting that writing articles is great way to get free publicity. How? When a publisher runs your article, people will see your resource box at the bottom which may include a small ad for your ezine or product.
Guess what?
If you write a horrible article, don't expect people to even look at your resource box. This is the message that needs to be communicated to individuals who are writing these bad articles.
Ezines these days are also lacking personality. I only receive a limited number of ezines where the editor actually writes to his or her readers. Writing an editorial for your ezine whether it is about a new product you like or your recent camping trip is extremely important.
Developing a relationship with your readers is vital to turning them into customers. An ezine that lacks personality will also have a tough time turning readers into customers.
Most people who start an ezine do not realize that it requires hard work! Forget about the "lazy way to riches" or "do absolutely nothing and be rich" programs.
They don't work. They are scams.
The only people who have made money the easy way were the ones who won the lottery. And even then, they spent countless hours over the years checking their lottery numbers. Basically, nothing comes easy.
A remember at one point when I first started that I would try to subscribe to every ezine related to Internet marketing because I didn't want to miss out on ANY tips. Pretty soon I was getting five or six ezines in one week with the SAME recycled article.
What a turn off.
I now only subscribe to about seven or eight really good Internet marketing ezines that tackle various aspects of Internet marketing such as affiliate programs, pay-per-click search engines, traffic generating tips, etc...
Don't be fooled into
believing that an ezine that has 35,000
subscribers must
be *real* good because they have that many readers. Chances are that
the subscriber base is just an accumulation of people who have posted classified
ads or free-for-all links on the publishers site and have been automatically
added to the subscriber list.
Your time is limited. Making money on the Internet requires promotion and marketing. You will never get this done if you are busy reading ezine after ezine.
Another important note is subscribe to ezines where you know the publisher has made a respectable amount of money on the Internet. These are the ones who have *made* the big bucks on the Internet. They know the tricks and methods and are willing to teach you.
Find the publishers
who have achieved success on the Internet and follow their lead.
Chances are with a lot of hard work, focus and dedication, you will be
able to duplicate their success in an even shorter amount of time.
