I am sure that there are thousands of people unsuccessfully trying to make money on the Internet that have asked themselves, "Why is everyone making money on the Internet, except me?" This can be a very frustrating thought.
Don't feel bad. You are sitting amongst the ninety percent (yes, 90 percent!) of people who are NOT making money on the Internet. Only a small fraction of people actually are making money on the Internet.
However it does not appear like that because everyone's ads claim that they are making "big money" and that you should join their program or follow their lead.
For example:
<- Ad Starts Here ->
"I Make $5,000 A
Week Doing Almost Nothing! Really easy to
learn and with little
cost to get started. Contact
myself@aol.com."
<- Ad Ends Here ->
Couple of questions come to my mind very easily when I see ads like these.
1. If you are making $5,000 a week doing nothing, then why are you still using a free AOL address? Can't you afford a real email address or your own domain name? Hmmmmmmm, seems awfully suspicious.
2. Doing almost nothing? I have never heard of anyone making that kind of cash doing almost nothing. What makes you so special or gifted to achieve this? Hmmmmmmm, seems awfully suspicious.
Is it just blind greed that makes people on the Internet make these outrageous claims? For some people, yes. There are some people who will make these false claims although they have not made a dime because they simply want to make money and don't care if they scam anyone.
Then there are people who make these claims because they blindly follow any ad copy that is given to them to promote. For example, an affiliate program may supply you with sample classified ads that may seem misleading.
It is very easy to get scammed on the Internet. Companies promising fortunes to individuals and quickly disappearing leaving the unsuspecting individual with an empty wallet.
Although you may come across thousands of ads giving the impression that millions of people are *easily* making money on the Internet, this simply is not true.
I have been an Internet marketer for the last four years and I can tell you that it has been a hard road to reaching my success. You cannot simply expect to make thousands of dollars in a few weeks. This simply does not happen.
What are the keys to Internet profits?
1. Educate yourself: You need to get your hands on any information that will teach you about Internet marketing. This is the only way you will learn what works and what doesn't. All this information can be found FREE on the Internet. You just need to invest some time into finding it from various sources.
2. Follow the experts: Find out who the Internet gurus are and follow their lead. They have obviously done something right and that is why they are making money.
3. Find a product or service that is in demand: If nobody is interested in buying the product or service you are promoting then you have to really ask yourself, is it worth promoting?Don't waste your time on loser product/services. Find the winners and then keep promoting.
4. Create a killer web site: A killer web site will help you generate those visitors into customers. You do not need millions of visitors to finally make money on the Internet. Working on your conversion ratio by creating a sizzling ad copy will do wonders!
5. Make it easy for the customer: Make sure your web site has easy navigation and that you accept various forms of payment (i.e. check, credit card, PayPal, etc...) The easier you make it for the customer, the faster they will order.
6. Market, market, market! Oh yeah, before you forget, remember to MARKET! Far too many people spend 90% of their time making their web site all pretty with fancy graphics and state of the art cgi programs, but if you do not market, their is no point. Who will see it?
If you are one of
those people who are making outrageous claims, it is time to start backing
up those words with serious profits. Follow the steps above and you will
feel a lot better that you didn't cheat a fellow marketer with your false
claims.
