Choosing The Right Pay-Per-Click Search Engine

I recently visited PayPerClickSearchEngines.com, which is a web site that lists a variety of different pay-per-click search engines on the Internet.  At the time I checked this site, there were 450 search engines listed.

With over 200 pay-per-click search engines to choose from, it can be quite confusing for someone who is new on the Internet to select the right one to advertise on.

Overture.com (formerly Goto.com) was the first pay-per-click search engine on the block.  For the longest time only a few pay-per-click search engines such as Findwhat.com and Bay9.com dominated the market.

But now, because of cheap available CGI scripts, anyone can start their own pay-per-click search engine for only $69.  Yes only $69 can get you a script to start your own pay-per-click search engine.

See for yourself.  http://smartcgis.com/smartsearch/

I would hesitate to invest my money in a pay-per-click search engine that is powered by a $69 script.  I haven't fully tested out these pay-per-click search engines, but it will be interesting to see how the software performs under demanding conditions.

A lot of these new pay-per-click search engines are hoping to capture a share of the advertising market that is now demanding results for their advertising dollars.

Will these new search engines last?

In my opinion, you will see a lot that will fold and disappear.  This is due to that fact that these new pay-per-click search engines do not offer anything unique as compared to the industry leaders.  The pay-per-click search engines that will last are that ones that are catering to a unique market.

For example, Cashdream.com only lists gaming sites and therefore are trying to target a niche market.  Advertisers who list their site on this search engines know that they will be easily reaching targeted customers and will be paying a premium price to get a higher ranking.

Another site, ChemIndustry is also a specialty pay per click search engine.  It has indexed over 50,000 pages with chemical industry related pages.

Sites like the above are trying to target niche markets.  They know that it will be tough to go head to head with sites such as Findwhat.com or Overture.com.

I would suggest following this criteria when selecting a pay-per-click search engine to advertise on:

1. Does it get enough traffic that people will actually click on
   your link?

2. Do they have fraud mechanisms to prevent your account from
being depleted if someone keeps repeatedly clicking on your
   listing?

3. Is their bidding interface easy to follow and user friendly?

4. Do they provide good customer support?

5. Does the PPC search engine allow you to reach your targeted
   prospects?

These are just a few things to consider and you may actually come up with a bigger list of criteria to follow.

Recently, Cool Cash also launched a new pay-per-click search engine BulletBid.com.  We are still in the beta testing phase and hope to be fully operational by next year.  What makes BulletBid.com unique from other pay-per-click search engines is that you can sponsor category sites at Uselessfacts.net.

It works that same way as Sprinks.com, where you can sponsor a particular About.com guide suite.  BulletBid.com is also powered by robust software that costs a lot more than $69!

We are not quite sure how successful BulletBid.com will be, but were are hoping the extra exposure from the ability to sponsor "fact categories" will separate us from the rest of the PPC search engines.

Here are a list of some other pay-per-click search engines that will also offer your free money to start generating traffic.  You can check out how much traffic these sites generate by going to http://www.payperclicksearchengines.com that gives you traffic statistics for all these pay-per-click search engines.
