Self Publishing Your Way To The Top

Almost every one has at least one great idea in their mind that
could be an information goldmine.  You do not have to be an
expert writer or a genius to write a book or article on a
particular topic.  As long as you can communicate an idea in
written form, you are almost 90% of the way to become a
successful self publisher.

Self publishing your own materials, whether they are in the form
of an ebook, newsletter or simple report, can provide you with a
generous lifestyle.

Many people turn to self publishing because getting a major book
publisher to publish your work is not an easy task.  Even if
they accept your great manuscript that may be chalk full of
interesting content, you will still have to wait one to two
years before the book even hits the bookstores.

In contrast, you can write an ebook or digital report and start
selling it on the Internet within weeks.  You can do all the
marketing and promoting from home and keep 100% of the profit
instead of a small royalty from the publishing company.

One of the biggest advantages of self publishing on the Internet
is that you completely bypass the middleman.  You don't have to
worry about printers or art designers because you can deliver
your product digitally!

You are in complete control.

The Internet has provided people with the opportunity to tap a
worldwide market with their digital products.  Promotion can be
done through email, banner ads and search engines.

Look at how many people are recording their own music songs in
MP3 format and distributing it on the Internet.  They haven't
given up just because they didn't get a major record deal.  They
are still trying to live their dreams by being their own record
label.

There are thousands of publications, web sites and magazines
that are published by ordinary people, like yourself, who have
discovered that self publishing can make them a lot of money.

... and I mean A LOT!

Whatever you decide to publish, you should make sure that there
is a demand for your information.  Most people agree that it is
much easier to find a demand and create a product to satisfy
that demand rather than creating a product and trying to create
a demand for it.

Does the above make sense, or was it just a long tongue twister?

In a nutshell, if there is no market for your information, then
no matter how good the idea is, it will not sell.

Pick up your local business magazine or scan the Internet to see
what the most popular topics are.  You could even visit the
bestsellers list for non-fiction books to see what people are
buying.

Ask yourself if you can package that information in a better way
or from a different angle that would also be of interest to the
readers in that market.

If the answer is "yes," then you can enter that particular
market and also start selling your own info product.

Be creative in developing your material.  Perhaps you are aware
of some techniques that allow people to accomplish their goals
faster in a certain field.

Maybe you can think of a better way to cash in on some current
fad.  The bottom line is that people are hungry for information
and ideas, and you can become the writer or self-publisher of
information people want to buy.

Why not cash in on your creativity?

Today's market is eager to buy information that can help them
improve their lives.  The (3) biggest selling informational
products are the ones that deal with:

1) Finances
2) Physical Health
3) Emotional Health

If you can fill any of those needs with information that can be
put onto a written page, there are millions of people waiting to
give you their money to acquire it.

We are in age of specialized information.  People are always
looking for specific information and are sometime willing to pay
thousands of dollars for it. Your job is to either find a need
and fill it, or create the need and supply it.

The key to successful publishing is that you need to be very
organized and break down the information you will be writing
about.  You can do this by first preparing a brief outline of
how you want your information product to flow.

For example, you might first break it down into ten chapters
that have their own theme.  Then you might go on further to
break each chapter down into sub-parts that make up the
chapter's theme.

You can easily write at least one sub-part each day or multiple
parts if you have the time.  By breaking the information product
down and doing each part a little at a time, the job or creating
an info product doesn't seem all that big anymore.

Most of the research can be done on the Internet.  You can find
a wide variety of information on almost every conceivable topic.
Just select a major search engine like Google.com and type your
topic into the search form.

Guess what?  You probably got results back for thousands of web
resources!

Read, read and read, until you fully understand the subject
matter that you have decided to write about.  Take extensive
notes and make sure your mark which chapters they pertain to.

Remember that when you are creating your information product,
you cannot simply copy someone else' material word for word.

That is plagiarism.

Instead, you should take the idea and express it in your own
words.  You should strive to be original and develop your own
distinctive writing form.  This is what makes successful
writers.

The objective of your information product is to communicate a
message to the readers.  If your writing style fails to
communicate your message to the reader, then you will be wasting
your time and theirs.

You should forget about using high tech words or complicated
jargon with your readers.  Use short sentences and simple words.
You have to understand that your readers will be from a wide
variety of backgrounds, so you will have to create a writing
style that caters to everyone.

You should organize your message in logical order.  Nothing is
worse than reading an ebook or report that jumps from one topic
to another.  Create your information product so that it flows
logically so that the reader can understand the message
effectively.

When I wrote my first ebook, "EZ Money With Ezines," I first
broke it down into chapters that each had a specific topic.
Those topics were broken down into even further sections and all
tied into the theme of the chapter.

I did each section one at a time and when I had completed all
the sections, I put the entire ebook together.

Voila, I had my first information product!  With a little bit of
promotion and marketing, I have made tens of thousands of
dollars in sales, selling this very ebook at the web site

Now, it is your turn!  Don't be shy.  Writing is not as hard as
it may seem.  Once you get started and on a roll, you will be
surprised at how many pages you have written in a relatively
short time.

Don't let any self doubt hold you back.  This is your time to
shine and reap the rewards of self-publishing.
