Marketing With Sequential Autoresponders

One of the best methods of getting information to customers instantaneously is through the use of an email autoresponder.  Email autoresponders work like a fax-on-demand.  If you send an email to an autoresponder address, you will immediately get back a prewritten email message.

An email autoresponder is a 24-hour sales letter for your product or service.  Up until recently, email responders usually only sent one message back.  But most people do not purchase a product or service on the first contact.  Statistics indicate that over 80% of sales are made after the fifth contact.

People need repetition in order to fully absorb the message and understand the information.  People even sometimes forget the message altogether after a few days.  Some people also need a push to purchase a product or service.  A series of follow-up emails gives them that push.

New autoresponders now allow a sequence of messages to be sent to a prospective customer at various intervals.  For example, when someone requests information from an autoresponder, there could be a sequence of five different emails sent every other day.  Everything is done automatically for you using these sequential autoresponders and you do not have to do any hard work.  All you are responsible for is creating the message in each email.

It may seem like a lot of work to create all those follow-up email messages, but I can guarantee that the time will be well spent.  If a prospective customer doesn't purchase after the first email, using a sequential autoresponder, you can send follow up emails that offer a discount to purchase your product  or service.

I remember a few years ago I requested information via regular mail for a commodities course.  I didn't buy the package on the first sales letter, but only after they had sent me their fifth follow-up letter.  It cost this company money every time they sent me a follow-up letter, but they understood the power of repetition and follow up.

The beauty of sequential autoresponders is that it does not cost you any extra money to send follow-up emails.  You need to close the sale while the prospect is hot.  They obviously have an interest in what you have to offer or they would not have sent an email to your autoresponder for additional information.

Sequential autoresponders are not only good for follow-up sales letters; you can also offer a course over email.  Ken Evoy of the SiteSell fame offers a variety of courses over a five-day period.  He uses a sequential autoresponder to send out a different part of a course on different days.

Ken doesn't do a thing.  In fact he doesn't know who is taking his course.  His course acts as his 24-hour sales machine.
